Landfill gas

There are numerous landfill gas operated CHP plants in Germany. In this so-called combined heat and power (CHP), landfill gas is burned in a combustion engine and converted into electricity and heat. In the course of the energy turnaround, CHP plants are being used by landfill gas operators for flexible and decentralised energy generation to replace conventional energy sources..

In order to comply with the legal requirements, these CHP units require exhaust gas after treatment. Emission Partner offers you a suitable catalyst solution for all landfill gas operated CHPs. Among our customers are well-known CHP service partners specialized in landfill gas engines, who already trust in the know-how of Emission Partner engineers.

For landfill gas engines, the formaldehyde limit value was reduced from 60 mg/Nm³ to 40 mg/Nm³ for existing plants from February 2018 with the enforcement recommendation on formaldehyde. Emission measurement must now be carried out annually rather than every 3 years. Many plants that previously fell below the limit value without any exhaust gas after treatment now have to retrofit catalysts for the first time.

Low emissions become a continuous task!
Our solution: EMI-LOG – with CO sensor!

With the introduction of the 44th Federal Emission Protection Ordinance in June 2019, low emissions became a continuous task. In the future, the operator must prove not only continuous compliance with nitrogen oxide limits, but also the continuous and effective operation of catalytic converters. Our solution for reliable compliance with these requirements is EM.I-LOG, an engine manufacturer-independent and self-sufficient solution for all engine types.

The additional CO measurement leads to more transparency and sustainability. Service and maintenance work can be derived, allowing you to determine the time of catalyst replacement yourself in the future. In addition, you can compare catalytic converters from different manufacturers more easily and thus also save costs..

The data to prove the effective operation of the exhaust aftertreatment system is stored in a cloud in compliance with DSGVO, both locally and accessible to you. With the conclusion of a service contract, you will receive automated monthly/annual reports as proof for your authority..

MWM

PreviousNext
12

Due to the many CHP manufacturers (SEVA, Pro2, ETW, Dreyer and Bosse) who have installed MWM engines for biogas operation, there is no uniform catalytic converter for these engines (mostly TCG 2016 V12/V16). As the conversion requirements have increased, it is recommended to install a catalyst chamber with two thin catalyst discs, which can be cleaned and replaced individually as required..

Jenbacher

Jenbacher engines, especially the Jenbacher 312, are very popular with German biogas farmers because of their reliability. These engines are also characterized by relatively high formaldehyde emissions, which pose a particular challenge for the catalytic converters. Emission Partner has developed its own line of catalytic converters for these engines, depending on the installation location, which reliably meet the strict German formaldehyde requirements over several successive measurements.

SERIES 400

MDE units are cogeneration units derived from MAN engines with relatively low raw emissions and a large catalyst flanged to the exhaust gas heat exchanger (AWT). Due to its design, this construction has no slippage compared to the AWT plug-in unit. These engines can also be operated without gas treatment using sulphur-resistant catalysts specially developed by Emission Partner.

CATALYTIC CONVERTER FOR ELECTRIC HAGL MOTORS

This catalyst is flanged directly into the exhaust pipe after the turbocharger and has a distribution plate that significantly improves the flow onto the catalyst surface.

EXHAUST GAS HEAT EXCHANGER-CATALYST

This catalyst is inserted into the heat exchanger directly at the hot gas inlet side. Due to the flexible lamella spring clip, gas slippage past the catalyst is reliably prevented.
